Mactac launches high-tack industrial tapes

The new product line adheres to nearly every surface, the company says.

Mactac Industrial Tapes has launched MacBond FBR899 Series Tapes, a versatile line of industrial tapes designed to adhere to nearly any and every surface.

The product line features Mactac’s MacBond FBR899 adhesive. MacBond FBR899 offers high-tack rubber, as well as an excellent blend of adhesion and peel. It has excellent low-surface energy (LSE) performance and adhesion to most open- and closed-cell foams, as well as corrugated materials. Additionally, it forms aggressive bonds to textiles and textured surfaces.

“Mactac’s MacBond FBR899 adhesive was developed as an internal innovation to meet market needs for a robust, high-performance adhesive that could be used in a variety of applications,” says Janet Page, senior marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “It works on just about any and every surface imaginable and is a true ‘goldilocks’ product – not too firm, not too soft, and gives the best blend of performance available in a rubber adhesive.”

MacBond FBR899 Series Tapes are ideal for the following applications:

  • Fabrication, gaskets, and seals
  • Packaging and corrugated
  • Point-of-purchase (POP) and display assembly
  • Acoustic tiling, insulation and foam bonding
  • Building and construction
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) and face shield assembly
They are offered in transfer adhesive and double-coated film form with a 0.5-mil PET carrier. Designed to meet every type of converting and laminating process, MacBond FBR899 Series Tapes are available with a wide variety of release liners. They feature a 2-year shelf life.
